InSyBio Launches InSyBio V4, including BioInfoLLM™: a Specialised AI Assistant for Bioinformatics and Biomarker Discovery

InSyBio, a leader in artificial intelligence-powered bioinformatics and precision medicine solutions, today announced the launch of BioInfoLLM™, a domain-specific artificial intelligence assistant integrated into the InSyBio Suite. Designed specifically for bioinformatics, multi-omics analysis, and biomarker discovery, BioInfoLLM enables researchers to interact with complex computational workflows through natural language while providing scientifically grounded guidance throughout the research process.

BioInfoLLM represents a significant advancement in AI-assisted bioinformatics by combining the power of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with domain-specific scientific knowledge. Built on Meta’s Llama family of large language models and deployed through Ollama on our dedicated Vultr server infrastructure, the platform delivers context-aware, evidence-based responses tailored to the needs of life science researchers.

Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, BioInfoLLM has been developed using a curated knowledge repository comprising peer-reviewed scientific publications in bioinformatics and biomarker discovery, in addition to InSyBio’s extended documentation from InSyBio Suite user guides, white papers, and validated computational methodologies. By retrieving relevant scientific evidence before generating responses, the platform delivers accurate, transparent, and contextually relevant answers while reducing the risk of AI hallucinations.

“Researchers today face an unprecedented volume of biological data and increasingly sophisticated computational methods,” said Mr Labros Digonis, CEO of InSyBio. “BioInfoLLM transforms how scientists interact with bioinformatics software by providing an intelligent assistant capable of explaining methodologies, guiding analytical workflows, answering technical questions, and helping researchers make better-informed decisions throughout their analyses. Our vision is to make advanced bioinformatics expertise accessible through natural conversation.”

BioInfoLLM supports users across every stage of bioinformatics analysis, including biomarker discovery, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, machine learning applications, statistical analysis, experimental design, data interpretation, and the effective use of InSyBio’s computational pipelines. The assistant is designed to complement the scientists’ expertise by providing immediate access to trusted scientific knowledge and workflow guidance, supporting their analysis efforts every step of the way.

The technology builds upon InSyBio’s ongoing research into domain-specific large language models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, extending proven methodologies developed for specialized scientific applications into a comprehensive AI platform for bioinformatics. The underlying architecture integrates advanced semantic search, document retrieval, and LLM reasoning to deliver responses grounded in curated scientific literature and proprietary domain expertise.

As part of the InSyBio Suite, BioInfoLLM enhances the user experience by enabling conversational interaction with complex bioinformatics workflows, reducing training requirements, accelerating analysis, and improving researcher productivity.

“The future of bioinformatics lies in the seamless integration of artificial intelligence with scientific expertise,” added Mr Digonis. “BioInfoLLM represents an important milestone toward intelligent research platforms that not only perform sophisticated analyses but also help researchers understand, interpret, and confidently apply their results.”

BioInfoLLM is available immediately as an integrated capability within the InSyBio Suite V4 version.

About InSyBio: InSyBio is an international pioneer in bioinformatics, revolutionising the medical field, clinical trials and food/nutrition industries through targeted biomarker discovery and highly-accurate predictive analytics.

InSyBio solutions provide the R&D departments of Pharma, Research Institutes and Food/Nutrition companies with the means, both analytically and computationally, to meet their challenging research and innovation goals (such as robust biomarker discovery and accurate predictive models). This is done through a sophisticated, software-as-a-service, machine learning platform which comprehensively integrates multi-omics data, reducing the number of samples and additional validation experiments needed. Since 2013, InSyBio has worked with hundreds of academics, large and small companies, hospitals, and research centers, allowing them to succeed in their biomarker discovery tasks with an increase of at least 10% in predictive accuracy and a decrease of at least 80% in overall time and cost.
