Benefiting industry and academia worldwide, the team VIRTUOUS works to design an intelligent “virtual tongue” capable of taste prediction. The project consists of four tools.
- Virtuous Database Search, a comprehensive food database.
- VirtuousUmami, an ML-based algorithm to predict the umami taste of a query compound based on its chemical structure and various other notations.
- VirtuousSweet/Bitter, an ML-based algorithm to predict the sweet or bitter taste of a query compound based on its chemical structure and various other notations.
- VirtuousMultitaste, an ML-based algorithm to predict four tastes of a query compound based on its chemical structure and various other notations.
